Malu is a charismatic, temperamental, and unemployed actress who lives with her conservative mother in a house in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro. She tries to handle a tense relationship with her adult daughter while living off memories of her artistic fame. Director Pedro Freire made his first feature film inspired by his own family’s story and did so with great care. A carefully chosen cast highlights the subtle nuances of generational conflicts in this intimate drama about three women who are simultaneously wounded and strong.

Trivia:

The film is dedicated to actress Malu Rocha, and the main character is based on her. Malu had a relationship with TV star Herson Capri, and their son Pedro wrote and directed the film.
