Pureza sets out in search of her son Abel, who disappeared after going mining in the Amazon. In her search, Pureza comes across a system of grooming and imprisonment of rural laborers. She takes a job on a farm where she witnesses the brutal treatment of laborers and the deforestation. Pureza escapes from the farm and reports it to the federal authorities. With no credibility and fighting against a strong and perverse system, she returns to the forest to record evidence.

Curiosity: Wearing only her own clothes, carrying a Bible and a photograph, Pureza set out in search of her missing son and ended up becoming a symbol of the fight against modern slavery.
