2017
4th year 2.-5.11. | Bio Oko
The cinematography of distant Brazil lit up the Bio Oko screen for the fourth time and brings a remarkable batch of culture from across the ocean to the first days of November. The sedate environment of the Kino Brasil festival will take over this iconic cinema in Prague 7 from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th November 2017. The festival traditionally gives space to the powerful voice of contemporary Brazilian directors, films appreciated in all corners of the world and unique independent films.
The theme of this year's festival is RETURNS, in the spirit of which we spend time from the premiere to the last performance in the cinema, but also during the accompanying program. Homecomings, to childhood, to the past, to roots, home, to yourself... all kinds of returns. But above all, returns to Brazil, its pure and intact nature, warmth and sensuality, the openness and kindness of its people, the abundance and beauty of nature, the potential and uniqueness of art.

The documentary by Paul Cesar Toledo and Abigail Spindel offers a spontaneous trip to the depths of Brazilian society, in which many people do not reach for the privileges and prosperity of the Brazilian boom.
