THE BEST OF BRAZILIAN MOVIES
HOW IS IT GOING TO BE THIS YEAR?
Summer movie screening
Until Sbornia Takes Us Apart (Otto Guerra, Ennio Torresan, 2013, 93´)
Nobody expected that during a football match that is played with war axes, there would be such a disaster that forever changes the whole country of Sbornie. So far, Sbornie, together with two main characters, Tanga and Tragedy, has been isolated from the rest of the world by an insurmountable wall. Due to this isolation, the local people could keep their peculiar habits, including their national drink Bizuwinu. Now, however, there are factory owners from the neighbouring country heading to Sbornie to take advantage of all the opportunities the quirky country offers. Animated slapstick Until Sbornia Takes Us Apart tells an allegorical story, which precisely aims at the burning issues of today, when building walls becomes a political leitmotif and international borders slowly lose their original meaning.

KINO BRASIL PROJECT
Kino Brasil is organised by Saudade, an association of enthusiasts who fell in love with Brazil. For seven years we have been closely following Brazilian cinematography and have been carefully choosing the best films to screen in November at the cinema Bio Oko. We try to present the films in the broader context of Brazilian culture, gastronomy and political-economic situations. That's why this year's theme is wilderness, to which we are cordially inviting you.
5.- 8.11. 2020
Kino Brasil project is funded by the Czech Ministry of Culture, City of Prague, Prague 7 City District, Portuguese Centre - Camões Institute in Prague, Embassy of Brazil in Prague, and the language school Slůně.
